Last semester, last jerk!
National exams and other final exams are approaching and many students are starting to look towards the end of primary or secondary school. Before the semester takes off, it is therefore good to start preparing for the steadily increasing workload, so that you have more time to enjoy the last semester before all friends are spread out for the wind, and stress can be kept under control. Therefore, we share with you our 5 favorite tips for you to row home the final grades.
1. Set up your study plan for the last semester
Having a study plan for the last weeks before the national exams gives you all the tools so that you do not postpone your studies. It's easy to push the plug before national exams, but do not forget that you will still have regular schoolwork that needs to be done at the same time. Tips for getting started with your study plan: choose 3 or 4 days a week at least one month in advance as you spend 15-45 minutes at a time. Be consistent with these small homework sessions before the national exams and you will have time to go through old material.
2. Avoid last-minute studying
We are not made to study last minute. In order for you to learn something, it is better to run light studies over a longer period. Stuffing the last days full of plugs makes you easily forget what you have studied and causes unnecessary stress. Complex subjects such as mathematics or science lay the foundation for much that you learn at university.
3. Find a study group
Start a study group. In a group of 3-5 people that you meet a couple of times on the eve of the national tests, you increase the chances of getting good grades. We are all good at different things, and just the question you have a hard time with, maybe one of your friends fully understands. Studying in a group is also much more fun. Make flash cards and quizzes of the studies, leave reviews of each other's work and discuss new concepts. In addition, you learn a lot from explaining yourself to others.
4. Treat yourself to sleep. Lots of sleep.
The most important recipe for success: sleep. It is important to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night to maintain focus, maintain your energy levels and make the most of the last semester. We understand that sometimes the time is not enough, and the plug then goes before sleep. But, how alert and alert will you be if you sat up and read all night - instead of sleeping? The body and brain need sleep and rest to be able to recover, and digest all the information you take in. Sleep has, really, a big impact on your learning. Those who sleep poorly can experience both physical and mental symptoms. During the day, did you feel weak, unfocused, yawned a lot and could barely keep your eyes open? Then you have probably slept too little. Are you a student who would rather skip sleep than study? Maybe time to rethink. Here is some good advice on how to change the vicious circle.
- Plan the time well so that you have time to study and read earlier in the day.
- Take a break from your computer and cell phone late at night
- Unwind physically and mentally for a few hours before going to bed.
- Try to go to bed at the same time every day
- Do not drink caffeinated beverages after kl. 15
- Try to exercise regularly, as it has a positive effect on sleep.
5. Ask for help
Do not wait to ask questions until the days before the final exams. If you start reviewing your study material a few weeks in advance, you know what questions and topics you may need help with. Teachers often have office hours either before or after school and other students who help with homework help can also squeeze in extra hours to help you. If you encounter foreign questions, private homework help can be very helpful. Many people who help with homework help are younger and have recently gone through the same situation as you. You only experience the last semester once!Do you need homework help?
